CHEBURASHKA

" Чебурашка "

Hero of the Russian People and Ambassador of friendship throughout the world.

Cheburashka arrived in Russia sleeping in a box of oranges. Without a passport or visa, the Russian government was kind enough to allow him to remain in Russia, much to the delight of young children and adults throughout the country.

Although he's not really a bear, Cheburashka enjoys climbing trees.

Cheburashka and my friend Maxim have recently discovered e-mail and the internet !!

Known for his world travel, here we see Cheburashka in Japan where he enjoyed eating sushi !!

One of my friends, Kirill took this photo of Cheburashka visiting his friend Vinnie the Bear.

Cheburashka and his friend Gena the Krokodil performed their military service delivering ice cream to their fellow soldiers in Afghanistan.

Cheburashka is a national hero and would undoubtedly win a seat in the Duma if he decided to run for office !!

One of Cheburashka's friends is  Shapoklyak, named after the chapeau she likes to wear.

Often mischievious, she is a kind old lady who has a pet rat, Lariska living in her purse.

Gena is famous for the song he

sings and plays on his squeeze box "Пусть бегут неуклюже пешеходы по лужам" (let the pedestrians

run clumsily over the puddles),

more commonly known as

"Gena's Birthday Song".
